Immediate Community
Since we moved to our
new location we have been trying to reach out to the community.
We have been out on a door to door visit introducing oursleves
and distribing literature to people in the community. Our aim is
to reach as many people as possible and perhaps about 2000
during the year.
Community
Events
During the year we participated in
various activities and had a stall at the Columbus Health Center
where we distributed information leaflet. We also distributed
information leaflets to homes in our immediate neighborhood and
at the Neighborhood Association annual event.
The Homeless
We continue with
reaching out the homeless. In this venture we join with
down-town Trinity Episcopal Church and other to feed about
100 homeless people about six times a year.
Pastoral Service to otherr Non-
Members
The church extends
pastorial services to non-members. It includes visits from
hospitals and the bereaved. Services extends to Memorial
Services and Funeral services etc.
Dinner
to Shelters
As from June 10, 2007 we will be serving dinner to a shelter in
Columbus and there after every second Sunday of the month. We
do need your help - either hands - on, donations, or advice.
Community
Lunch
We continue to serve lunch to the community every last
Sunday of the month at our church hall. We hope to increase this number substantially
by reaching out to the neigbours, shelters and to more of our immediate
neighbors in the community.
Hospital Ministry
The purpose of the hospital
ministry is to make much need morale visits to the local Hospital in
Columbusl. The hope of physical healing as
well as spiritual healing through Holy communionand prayers given
at the patients bedside. It is also
the duty of the Hospital Ministry to reach the shut ins as well,
sharing the Word of God with those who are unable to assemble
with the Saints.
Street Ministry
The purpose of the Street Ministry is to proclaim the Good News
throughout Columbus starting in our own community first. An
essential outreach tool is our Praise and Worship Team that in
combination with local Street Ministries makes a powerful
evangelistic team ensuring that souls are beingsaved. The Street
Ministry area includes but is not limited to the
homeless,shelter homes and wherever the lost soals are. We aim
to bring light to the communities dark and sinful environment
one street at a time.
